Students of the MBA Corporate Communications programme at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), have donated a 12-channel electrocardiogram (ECG) machine to the UPSA Clinic to support healthcare delivery on campus.
The presentation took place on Monday, 1 June 2026, as part of the students’ Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project.
The initiative was led by the lecturer for the Corporate Social Responsibility course, Professor Adwoa Sikayena Amankwah, and fully funded through contributions from the graduate students.
Presenting the equipment on behalf of the class, Prof. Amankwah said the gesture reflected the students’ commitment to giving back to the University community while translating the principles of corporate social responsibility into practical impact.

She noted that the class carefully assessed the healthcare needs of the University community and identified the ECG machine as a timely intervention that would strengthen the diagnostic capacity of the Clinic and contribute to improved medical care for students, staff and other members of the University community.
Receiving the equipment, the Medical Director of the UPSA Clinic, Dr Isaac Newman Arthur, expressed appreciation to the students and their lecturer for the thoughtful gesture.
He described the donation as timely and invaluable, noting that the Clinic previously did not have an ECG machine.
“This donation comes at a very important time for us. We do not currently have an ECG machine at the Clinic, and this equipment will significantly enhance our capacity to diagnose and monitor heart-related conditions among students, staff and other members of the University community,” Dr Arthur said.

He added that the availability of the machine would improve the quality of healthcare services provided by the Clinic and reduce the need for patients to seek certain diagnostic procedures outside the University.
Dr Arthur commended the MBA Corporate Communications class for their thoughtfulness and commitment to supporting healthcare delivery within the University, and encouraged other groups to emulate the gesture.
The donation forms part of the practical CSR component of the MBA Corporate Communications programme, which encourages students to identify societal needs and implement sustainable interventions that create positive impact within their communities.
