As part of the training programme, the group will also embark on an educational tour to some leading universities in the UK. This is to afford them the opportunity to learn best practices and return to UPSA to implement acquired knowledge.

Vice-Chancellor of UPSA, Professor Abednego Okoe Amartey, disclosed that the initiative is to foster a vision of excellence and ensure that UPSA continues to meet the evolving needs of its students and stakeholders.

“We believe that investing in our staff’s professional development is not only beneficial for them but also crucial for the growth and success of our university,” Prof Amartey said.

The customized training programme which forms part of UPSA’s periodic capacity building initiative, is the second to be organised by the University for employees, following a similar one in 2020.

It is facilitated by renowned experts and trainers from leading institutions including St Andrews University, University of East London and Lean Consulting.

The one-week training consists of both classroom sessions and hands-on practical exercises, providing participants with a well-rounded learning experience while encouraging collaboration and idea exchange among university staff and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
