UPSA Level 300 students donate medical equipment and drugs to campus Clinic

A group of third-year students from the Public Relations NGO and Business Administration classes of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), have donated essential medical equipment and drugs to the UPSA Medical Centre.

The equipment included a pharmacy label printer with software, an ear irrigation machine, two otoscopes, three thermometer guns, one glucometer, and a box of assorted medicines.

Lead Lecturer for the PR NGO course, Sandra Yeboah Nyarko, who was instrumental in acquiring the donated items, explained that the donation is intended to equip the clinic with essential tools to enhance its capacity to serve the university community effectively.

She further added that the generous gesture was to complement the University Management’s efforts in addressing the pressing needs of the university, acknowledging that limited resources require a collective effort to provide essential facilities and services for the benefit of all stakeholders.

The students also donated a 2.0 HP air conditioner to the Faculty of Information Technology and Communication Studies.

The medical equipment were received by a team of medical staff at the UPSA Clinic while the air conditioner was handed over to the Head of the Department of Communication Studies, Dr. Adwoa Amankwah.

Dr. Amankwah expressed her gratitude to the students for their charitable act, stating that their generous donation would go a long way in improving medical services on campus.

Director of the Research and Consultancy Centre, Prof. Abigail Opoku Mensah, said the gesture underscores the commitment of the students to making a meaningful impact on campus.

“The donation further highlights the students’ dedication to enhancing the university’s facilities and fostering a sense of community and collaboration within the institution,” Prof Mensah said.

She thanked the students for their individual cash contributions while acknowledging the support of key sponsors like Ernest Chemists and 3J’s Pharmacy.
