The Minister for the Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has officially commissioned a new police station at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), to enhance security and provide improved policing services to the university community.
The modern police facility has offices for case management, the station officer and the Criminal Investigations Department. It also has a cell lobby, kitchenette, gender-specific washrooms for staff and visitors, and spacious parking.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Hon. Mubarak lauded the UPSA leadership for their proactive approach to campus safety and their pivotal role in making the project a reality.
“I wish to commend the Vice-Chancellor and management of UPSA for their foresight and dedication in partnering with the Ghana Police Service to bring this police station to life,” the Minister said.

He reiterated government’s unwavering support for security agencies and urged community collaboration in identifying and resolving safety challenges.
He further charged officers assigned to the new station to uphold professionalism, utilise the facility effectively, and engage with the public in addressing their concerns.

“We are grateful to the government, the Inspector-General of Police, and the contractor, FT Global Investment Ltd., for their unwavering support in bringing this project to completion.”
