The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), through its Centre for International Education and Collaborations (CIEC), continues to strengthen its international academic engagement through its participation in the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility Programme at EKA University of Applied Sciences in Riga, Latvia. The programme, held from Monday, 20 April to Friday, 24 April 2026, formed part of EKA’s International Academic Week 2026.
EKA’s International Academic Week brought together scholars, administrators and higher education professionals from diverse institutional backgrounds to share knowledge, exchange best practices and explore new opportunities for academic cooperation.
The week-long programme featured thematic workshops, expert-led presentations, institutional meetings, cultural engagements and collaborative sessions aimed at strengthening cross-border partnerships and promoting innovative approaches to teaching, learning, research and academic administration.

UPSA was represented by Dr Edwin Ayernor, Ag. Director of the CIEC; Dr Robertson Neequaye Kotey, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Administration; Dr Juliana Akushika Andoh, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Marketing; Dr Esther Julia Korkor Attiogbe, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Business Administration; and Mrs Florence Bediako, Assistant Registrar at the Office of the Vice-Chancellor.
During the programme, the UPSA delegation participated in lectures, presentations, institutional discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions that provided opportunities to showcase the University’s expertise while learning from international partners.
The engagements also created avenues for the delegation to explore emerging areas of collaboration, particularly in academic mobility, innovation in pedagogy, intercultural learning, research cooperation and institutional capacity building.

As UPSA deepens its global partnerships, international mobility programmes such as Erasmus+ remain critical to broadening institutional perspectives, enhancing professional practice and positioning the University as a leading centre for scholarship with professionalism.
UPSA’s participation in the International Academic Week reinforces the University’s strategic focus on building globally connected partnerships that enhance academic delivery, strengthen administrative systems and expand international exposure for faculty, staff and students.
