Guidelines for Supplementary Resit Examinations

NOTICE
GUIDELINES FOR SUPPLEMENTARY RESIT EXAMINATIONS

All Undergraduate, Diploma, and Postgraduate Final Year students are to take note of the following important information for the Supplementary Resit Examinations for the 2024/2025 academic year:

1. Those qualified to write the supplementary resit examinations

• Final Year Postgraduate Students
• Undergraduate Level 400 Students
• Diploma Final Year Students

Note: Students who completed their programmes of study before the 2024/2025 academic year are not allowed to register and sit for the Supplementary Resit Examination.

2. Courses to be fielded for the supplementary resit examinations

Postgraduate – Year 1, first and second semester courses and Year 2 first semester courses only
Undergraduate – Levels 100 – 300, first and second semester courses and Level 400 first semester courses only
Diploma – Year 1, first and second semester courses and Year 2 first semester courses only

3. Students may register for a maximum of twenty-one (21) credit hours only.

4. Resit registration is for only failed courses (i.e. Grades D, F, Z, X, IC).

5. Payment for resit papers:

• Each credit hour of a supplementary resit paper attracts a fee of GH₵120.00.
• Pay the appropriate fee at Access Bank and disburse on UFIS (https://student.upsa-ufis.com).
• List the course(s) code (s), title and contact number on the disbursement sheet.
• Submit the disbursement sheet with a copy of your unofficial transcript to Room 8, Academic Affairs Directorate.

6. The registration period for supplementary resit papers is Monday, 30th June 2025, to Friday, 4th July, 2025. No late registration will be entertained.

7. The list of registered resit students, along with their courses, will be compiled and sent to the respective departments. This will allow course lecturers to organise tutorials and set questions immediately after the registration period.

8. Tutorial Sessions:
• There will be onsite or online tutorial sessions for two (2) weeks (i.e. Saturday, 5th July, 2025 – Sunday, 19th July, 2025).
• Each course fielded will consist of four (4) sessions, or eight (8) contact hours of tutorial sessions within the specified period. Thus, each session will include two (2) contact hours of tutorial instruction.

9. Examination
Supplementary Resit Examinations will be held in person from Monday, 21st July, 2025 – Friday, 15th August, 2025.

10. The timetable for tutorial sessions and examinations will be released immediately after the registration period.

11. Students should report any clashes in the examination and tutorial session timetables.
