The 9th Mini GUSA Games

The 9th Mini GUSA Games are set to take place this month, bringing together student-athletes from across Ghana for a premier multi-sport competition. Hosted by the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), the event runs from May 5th to May 15th, 2026.

Under the distinguished patronage of the Vice-Chancellor of UPSA, Prof. John Kwaku Mensah Mawutor, this year’s games are centered around a vision of holistic development.

Event Theme: “Integrating University Sports with Academic Professionalism”

Participating Universities

A total of 16 prestigious institutions are scheduled to compete:

UPSA (University of Professional Studies, Accra), UG (University of Ghana), KNUST (Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology), UCC (University of Cape Coast), UEW (University of Education, Winneba), UDS (University for Development Studies), UMaT (University of Mines and Technology), UENR (University of Energy and Natural Resources), UTAS (University of Technology and Applied Sciences), GCTU (Ghana Communication Technology University), UESD (University of Environment and Sustainable Development), UHAS (University of Health and Allied Sciences), UniMAC (University of Media, Arts and Communication), GIMPA (Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration), USTED (University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development), UBIDS (SD Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies).

Athletes will go head-to-head in a variety of indoor and outdoor sports:

Football, 3×3 Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis & Table Tennis, Badminton, Athletics (Track and Field)
