UPSA Innovation Day 2026 to Showcase Student Solutions for National Development

The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) will host UPSA Innovation Day 2026 on Friday, 21 August, as the flagship public event of its maiden Innovation Week. The event, to be held from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Kofi Ohene Konadu Auditorium, Main Hall, will provide a platform for student innovators to present solutions developed through interdisciplinary research and practical problem-solving.

Sixteen student teams, comprising 57 innovators across eight disciplines, will pitch tailored solutions addressing challenges in areas such as disaster response, health and pharmaceuticals, taxation and revenue, energy and utilities, fintech and payments, employment, education, e-commerce, marketing intelligence and public-health analytics. The teams will engage companies, banks, investors, regulators and development partners on opportunities for adoption, incubation, commercialisation and policy uptake.

The competition will be assessed on business potential, value proposition, implementation capacity and financial proposition. In addition to the student pitches, the programme will feature faculty prototype demonstrations, a partner conversation on pathways to impact, and awards for the participating teams.

UPSA Innovation Day forms part of the University’s wider commitment to connect academic work with the needs of society and the economy. The event is free and open to the public, and interested participants are invited to join UPSA in celebrating ideas that can create meaningful impact for Ghana.
