Renowned transport and logistics entrepreneur Joseph Kwaku Horgle, on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Prof. John Kwaku Mensah Mawutor, to express his appreciation to the University for naming its newly established J.K. Horgle Transport and Logistics Centre after him.
The visit followed the inauguration of the Centre on July 2, 2026, in recognition of Mr. Horgle’s outstanding contributions to Ghana’s transport and logistics industry and his enduring legacy in the sector.
Welcoming Mr. Horgle, Prof. Mawutor thanked him for his invaluable contribution to the development of the transport and logistics industry, describing him as a distinguished entrepreneur whose achievements continue to inspire future generations.

The Vice-Chancellor also described Dr. Horgle as a proud UPSA alumnus whose professional accomplishments exemplify the University’s commitment to producing graduates who make meaningful contributions to national development.
Prof. Mawutor noted that the establishment of the J.K. Horgle Transport and Logistics Centre reflects the University’s commitment to promoting industry-focused research, innovation, and practical training while preserving the legacy of individuals whose work has transformed key sectors of the economy.

Dr. Horgle expressed profound gratitude to the University Council and Management for the honour bestowed on him, describing the naming of the Centre as one of the greatest recognitions of his professional career.
He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the Centre’s vision of advancing research, professional development, and stronger collaboration between academia and the transport and logistics industry.

As part of the visit, Prof. Mawutor presented Mr. Horgle with a copy of the UPSA 2025 Annual Report and a commemorative cloth marking the University’s 60th Anniversary.
Present at the meeting were the Registrar, Mrs. Lorraine Gyan; the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Emmanuel Selase Asamoah; the Acting Director of Administration, Dr. Leticia Akyeampong; and the Director of the J.K. Horgle Transport and Logistics Centre, Prof. Samuel Antwi.
