UPSA Office of the Dean of Students Honours Best-Dressed Students for May 2026

The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), through the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs, has honoured two students for their outstanding sense of style, confidence and professional presentation. The May 2026 recognition named Mr Emmanuel Oduro, a Level 400 BSc Accounting and Finance student, and Miss Awurama Achampong-Kyei, a Level 300 Bachelor of Laws student, as the University’s Best-Dressed Students for the month.

The awardees were celebrated for exemplifying the values of discipline, self-confidence and appropriate dressing within the UPSA community. Their recognition also reflects the University’s commitment to nurturing students who demonstrate not only academic ambition but also the personal comportment expected of future professionals and leaders.

Present at the brief ceremony were the Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Philomena Dadzie; the Vice-Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Anthony Sumnaya Kumasey; the SRC Financial Controller, Mr Francis Ahli; and the Chairman of the Council of Course Representatives (COCR), Mr Carl Mega Fidelis.

As part of the recognition, Mr Oduro and Miss Achampong-Kyei received UPSA-branded souvenirs and a selection of books from the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs. The presentation was intended to encourage them to continue upholding high standards of appearance, conduct and professionalism in their academic and social engagements.

In her remarks, Prof. Dadzie commended the awardees for setting a positive example for their peers and urged them to remain consistent in their personal presentation. She further encouraged them to serve as ambassadors of professionalism by inspiring other students to appreciate the role of confidence, discipline and decent dressing in their preparation for the world of work.

The Best-Dressed Student Award is a monthly initiative of the Office of the Dean of Students designed to promote confidence, celebrate individuality and encourage students to express themselves with authenticity while maintaining appropriate standards of dress within the academic environment.

The initiative forms part of broader efforts by the Office to enrich the student experience and reinforce UPSA’s culture of professionalism. It also underscores the University’s belief that higher education must shape the whole person by developing character, confidence and professional identity alongside academic excellence.
