A delegation from Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG) has paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor of University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Prof John Kwaku Mensah Mawutor, to discuss the Bank’s corporate and institutional banking services and explore opportunities for collaboration.
Welcoming the team to the University on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, Prof. Mawutor expressed appreciation for the visit and commended CBG for its interest in strengthening ties with the institution.
He highlighted UPSA’s distinctive operational approach, noting that although the University is a public institution, it is managed with a strong private-sector orientation.

According to the Vice-Chancellor, this philosophy enables UPSA to remain agile and competitive while maintaining high standards in service delivery.
“As a University, we continuously strive to provide efficient and responsive services to our stakeholders, including students and institutional partners,” Prof Mawutor said.
The Vice Chancellor also outlined UPSA’s infrastructure development strategy, emphasizing that the University relies largely on Internally Generated Funds (IGF) rather than government allocations to finance its projects.

He noted that this approach reflects UPSA’s commitment to self-sufficiency and its proactive efforts to improve the physical and academic environment.
The CBG delegation, led by the Segment Head for Institutional Banking, Madam Yvonne Miranda Kittoe, assured the Vice-Chancellor of the Bank’s readiness to deliver exceptional services, highlighting its renewed strategic direction and focus on private-sector excellence.
The team indicated that UPSA could expect high levels of professionalism and efficiency should a partnership be established.

The delegation further highlighted the Bank’s expertise in syndication and capital markets, noting that these capabilities position CBG to collaborate with other financiers in supporting large-scale institutional projects.
Such partnerships, they explained, could help UPSA secure competitive financing arrangements for its development initiatives.
Other members of the CBG team included Sector Head for NGOs, Schools and Churches, Ms Cynthia Dwumah, and Relationship Manager for NGOs, Schools and Churches, Mr Benjamin Darko Nyarko.
