New UTAG-UPSA executives pay courtesy call on Vice-Chancellor

The newly elected leadership of the University Teachers Association of Ghana, University of Professional Studies, Accra (UTAG-UPSA) branch, has paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor, Professor John Kwaku Mensah Mawutor.

The visit, led by the outgoing President, Dr. Sadat Mohammed, was to formally introduce the new executives to the Vice-Chancellor and strengthen the existing cordial relationship between university management and the association.

Introducing the delegation, the new UTAG-UPSA President, Dr. Redeemer Krah, explained that the meeting was part of efforts to ensure a smooth transition and to officially present the new leadership to the university’s Management.

The new executives included Dr. Selasie Aformaley Brown, Vice-President; Dr. Evelyn Lamisi Asuah, Secretary; Rev. Dr. Lawrence Asare Boadi, Treasurer; and Dr. Alice Aboagye, Women’s Commissioner.

During the meeting, discussions centred on issues relating to the welfare and professional development of lecturers, including opportunities for research support, improved working conditions, and capacity-building initiatives.

The Vice-Chancellor Professor Mawutor, in his remarks, congratulated the new executives on their election and commended the outgoing leadership for their service and dedication.

He assured the association of management’s continuous commitment to addressing faculty welfare concerns and creating a supportive environment for academic work.

Dr. Krah, on behalf of the new leadership, expressed appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor for his warm reception and reaffirmed UTAG-UPSA’s resolve to work collaboratively with management to advance the welfare of lecturers and promote academic excellence at UPSA.
