A delegation from Veman Sportswear, a thriving student-owned business, has paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Professor John Kwaku Mensah Mawutor, at his office on Wednesday, October 8.
The visit was to formally introduce the brand to the Vice-Chancellor and explore possible areas of collaboration with the University.
The Veman team comprised Ivan Tomefa Adiku, Founder; Esther Boadu, Co-founder; and Kelvin Osei Ofori, Media Head – all final-year students of UPSA.
During the interaction, the delegation shared the story behind the establishment of Veman Sportswear and its core vision of inspiring young people, particularly females in tertiary institutions and beyond, to actively participate in sports.
They also showcased their range of high-quality, stylish, and affordable sportswear, including lounge sets, tennis outfits, and other sporting gear.
As a start-up, Veman Sportswear expressed its commitment to expanding operations and creating opportunities for young innovators.
The team also outlined plans to increase production capacity and collaborate with the UPSA Sports Department in various strategic areas.
Professor Mawutor commended the Veman team for their initiative, creativity, and entrepreneurial drive, describing their effort as a reflection of UPSA’s mission to nurture ethical and enterprising leaders.
He encouraged the students to remain consistent, innovative, and purpose-driven rather than focusing solely on profit-making.
Prof Mawutor further expressed optimism about future partnerships to support student entrepreneurship and sporting activities at UPSA.
