Prof. Amartey commends Heads of Units for unwavering support during tenure

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Prof. Abednego Feehi Okoe Amartey, has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to various heads of units and directorates for their steadfast support throughout his eight-year tenure.

Speaking at a cocktail reception held in honour of the university’s 2024 retirees on Monday, November 4, Prof. Amartey emphasised the vital role that each departmental head plays in the university’s growth, acknowledging their dedication and service.

The event also formed part of a series of activities lined up to celebrate the Vice Chancellor’s achievements and legacy as his tenure comes to an end in a few weeks.

“This event is not about me,” Prof. Amartey remarked. “It’s an opportunity to express my appreciation to you all for the support you have shown me over these past years. We were able to achieve the things we achieved over the past eight years because of your hard work and commitment.”

Prof. Amartey also encouraged the heads to extend similar support to the incoming Vice-Chancellor, Professor John Kwaku Mensah Mawutor, whom he described as “very competent and capable.”

Former Registrar, Prof Koryoe Anim-Wright, who chaired the event, explained that the gathering aimed to celebrate the collective accomplishments of UPSA’s leadership and to set a foundation of continuity for the university’s next chapter.

“It is a privilege to gather today with those who have served in leadership alongside our Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abednego Feehi Okoe Amartey, during his transformative eight-year tenure,” Prof Anim-Wright said.
