Five staff of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) were honoured with the prestigious Vice Chancellor’s Award of Excellence at the Third Session of the 15th congregation held on Thursday, October 19.
The recipients, who play diverse roles within the university, were awarded for their outstanding contributions to their units/departments as well as their dedication to UPSA.
The awardees include Mr George Quartey, outgoing Director of the Quality Assurance Directorate; Dr Michael Boadi Nyamekye, a senior lecturer at the faculty of management studies and Mr George Kofi Amoako, a janitor.
The rest are Mr. Kwame Twumasi Gyamfi, academic affairs directorate, and Mr Emmanuel Freeman Kwade, senior media assistant.
The awards were presented to them by the Chairman of the governing council of UPSA, Dr Kofi Ohene-Konadu, with assistance from the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abednego Okoe Amartey.
Registrar of UPSA, Dr Koryoe Anim-Wright, congratulated the awardees on their achievements and thanked them for their exemplary service to the university.
She stressed that “these awards celebrate your exceptional performance as staff and recognise your impactful leadership and outstanding performance.”
The Vice Chancellor’s Award of Excellence was established in 2021 to recognise members of the university community who have excelled and deserve recognition for their exemplary commitment to the development of UPSA.
