Vice-Chancellor Calls On Italian Ambassador

 

 

The two universities through E4Impact Foundation are scheduled to launch an MBA in Entrepreneurship and Innovation programme in August this year. The visit by the Vice-Chancellor was to throw an official invitation to the ambassador to the event.

 

The meeting which took place at the Italian Embassy on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, also saw the two gentlemen discussing how the host could introduce UPSA to the Italian business community in Ghana and in the diaspora.

 

Prof. Okoe Amartey also used the occasion to call on the ambassador to establish an Italian Language Centre at the UPSA campus in order to support language students and translators boost their language proficiency in that regard.

 

His Excellency Favilli expressed his delight for the visit and said “it was an important path the university had taken” and urged them to stay focused in their quest to becoming the number business school in Africa. He said his outfit will do everything within its remit to support institutions like the UPSA to reach this feat.

 

The Ambassador also called for exchange programmes between students in his native-land, Italy and the University of Professional Studies, Accra, which he stressed would go long a way to improve the cross-cultural experience of both participants.

 

Meanwhile, Coordinator for the Programme, Andrew Ayiku, revealed at the meeting the MBA in Entrepreneurship and Innovation programme is designed to support both active and aspiring entrepreneurs in transforming business ideas into business plans; acquiring the skills to run a successful venture; creating, managing and growing businesses to make wealth; and building the right link with investors and partners with the objective of scaling-up businesses.

 

It is also expected that His Excellency Giovanni Favilli will grace this year’s 11th congregation and graduation ceremony to be held at the new UPSA multipurpose auditorium for the first time.
