UPSA Vice-Chancellor celebrates Chocolate Day with students, faculty, and staff

The management of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof John Kwaku Mensah Mawutor, marked this year’s Chocolate Day by distributing chocolate bars to students, faculty, and staff.

The gesture, a token of appreciation for all staff, was also aimed at fostering a sense of love and community spirit within the university.

Prof. Mawutor made an unannounced visit to various departments, directorates, units, and lecture halls, where he praised the faculty and staff for their dedication.

He described them as essential to UPSA’s mission of academic and professional excellence and expressed his gratitude for their unwavering commitment to the university’s success.

The Vice-Chancellor also extended the thoughtful gesture to students across all levels—including those pursuing bachelor’s degrees, diplomas, and professional qualification courses—sharing chocolates and words of encouragement.

Prof. Mawutor encouraged the students to celebrate the day with purity and Godly activities, urging them to shift away from the misconceptions often associated with Valentine’s Day.

“Valentine’s Day is not about making love but about expressing love,” Prof Mawutor stated. “Let your expression of love on Valentine’s Day be guided by Godly principles.”

Registrar of UPSA, Mrs Lorraine Gyan in highlighting the importance of the day said “the celebration not only fostered a sense of appreciation within the university but also aligned with its core values of community service, inclusivity, and holistic education.”
