The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) will launch its maiden Innovation Week 2026 from Monday, 17 August to Saturday, 22 August, under the theme, “From Ideas to Impact: Bridging the Gap between Academia and Industry through Innovation.” The initiative will bring together students, faculty, industry leaders, regulators, development partners and the wider public to explore how research, creativity and collaboration can respond to real-world challenges.
UPSA Innovation Week, an initiative of the Vice-Chancellor, is designed to move knowledge beyond the classroom by creating practical pathways for ideas to be demonstrated, refined, adopted and scaled. The programme will spotlight interdisciplinary projects, faculty-led research, technology-enabled solutions and conversations on the future of teaching, research and enterprise.
Activities during the week will include the official launch, faculty masterclasses, research and innovation showcases, and discussions on responsible artificial intelligence, future-ready pedagogy and interdisciplinary research. The programme will culminate in UPSA Innovation Day on Friday, 21 August, where shortlisted student teams will present business solutions to industry, investment and policy stakeholders, followed by a Family Day on Saturday, 22 August.
UPSA Innovation Week reflects the University’s commitment to scholarship with professionalism and to building stronger links between academia and the institutions that can adopt, support or invest in promising solutions.
Members of the University community, industry and the general public are invited to participate in this celebration of ideas, collaboration and impact.
