Rashid Ibrahim, a student of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), has been elected as the 59th President of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS).
His election adds to the growing list of UPSA students and graduates occupying key leadership roles across the globe.
Rashid becomes the second UPSA student to lead the national student association in just three years, a testament to the University’s reputation as a centre for nurturing visionary, ethical, and transformational leaders.
Speaking shortly after his election, Rashid pledged to lead and redefine the student movement through innovation, inclusivity, and empowerment.
“As President-Elect of the National Union of Ghana Students, Rashid Ibrahim stands as an inspiration to UPSA students and Ghanaian youth in general,” said Prof. John Mawutor, Vice-Chancellor of UPSA.
“We are confident that under his leadership, NUGS will remain a strong and credible voice for students across all tertiary and pre-tertiary institutions.”
Rashid, a lawyer by profession, is currently pursuing a Master of Laws (LLM) in International Business and Commercial Law at UPSA.
