The management of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), led by Vice-Chancellor, Professor John Kwaku Mensah Mawutor, has paid a courtesy call on the Minister for the Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, to deepen institutional collaboration.
The visit, which took place in Accra on Wednesday, April 9, formed part of the University’s ongoing efforts to strengthen partnerships with key government institutions and agencies.
It also provided an opportunity for both organisations to deepen existing collaboration and explore new areas of cooperation, particularly in the fields of security education, research, and capacity-building.
Prof. Mawutor introduced the University’s tailor-made training programmes designed specifically for institutions and professionals.
He highlighted ongoing collaborations between UPSA and several security agencies including the National Security, aimed at enhancing the capacity of personnel through practical, industry-driven education.
The Interior Minister, Alhaji Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, welcomed UPSA’s initiatives and expressed the Ministry’s readiness to work closely with the university to support the professional development of its staff and the advancement of national security objectives.
Accompanying the Vice-Chancellor on the visit were Mrs. Lorraine Gyan, Registrar of UPSA; Prof. Samuel Antwi, Pro-Chancellor; Mrs. Aba Lokko, Director of Public Affairs; and Dr. Gerald Nyanyofio, a lecturer at the Department of Business Administration.
The engagement concluded with a mutual commitment to formalise the collaboration through structured programmes and joint initiatives in the near future.
