The leadership of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), has paid a courtesy call on His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi. The visit, on Wednesday, 12 August 2026, afforded the University an opportunity to formally express its appreciation to His Majesty for his support and participation in activities marking UPSA’s 60th Anniversary.
The UPSA delegation comprised the Chancellor, Dr Kofi Koduah Sarpong; Chairman of the University Council, Dr Harry L. K. Agbanu; Vice-Chancellor, Professor John Kwaku Mensah Mawutor; Registrar, Mrs Lorraine B. Gyan; Hon. Albert Kan-Dapaah; President of the UPSA Global Alumni Association, Mr Francis Dadzie; and Chief Executive Officer of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG), Mr Kwabena Agyekum.

During the engagement, the delegation paid homage to the Asantehene and conveyed the University’s profound gratitude for his presence at the UPSA@60 celebrations, particularly the maiden Ghana Business Leaders’ Conclave held at the University in May 2026. At the Conclave, His Majesty engaged with business leaders, academics, students, and other stakeholders on integrity, ethical governance, negotiation, and mediation as critical foundations for sustainable leadership and national development.

The University leadership also acknowledged His Majesty’s longstanding goodwill towards UPSA and his continued interest in the institution’s growth and development. The visit reaffirmed the enduring relationship between the University and Manhyia and underscored UPSA’s appreciation for the Asantehene’s contribution to its journey and institutional advancement.

As UPSA builds on six decades of transformative education, the University remains committed to strengthening relationships with distinguished stakeholders whose leadership, counsel and support continue to advance its mandate and national impact.
