UPSA law lecturer, Yorm Abledu, presents her 2022 IBA Outstanding Young Lawyer award to Vice-Chancellor

The International Bar Association’s Young Lawyer, Yorm Ama Abledu has paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor of UPSA, Prof Abednego F. O. Amartey.

Madam Yorm Abledu, who is a law lecturer at UPSA Law School, stated that her visit to the Vice-Chancellor was to afford her the opportunity to present her latest achievement, the 2022 IBA Young Lawyer award.

On Thursday 3 November 2022, the International Bar Association (IBA) awarded Yorm Abledu with the 2022 Outstanding Young Lawyer Award.

IBA is one of the world’s leading organisations of international legal practitioners, bar associations and law societies.

IBA organises an annual awards programme to honour young lawyers who have demonstrated excellence and commitment to professional and ethical standards and positively impacted their communities.

With her remarkable achievements within the legal landscape, Madam Yorm Abledu becomes the first African female lawyer to win the IBA Young Lawyer award.

With joy and admiration, the Vice Chancellor congratulated Madam Abledu for her outstanding achievement and for winning such a prestigious award.

For him, the historical win is a big win for the entire faculty of UPSA.

Madam Yorm Abledu was accompanied by Dr Francisca Kusi Appiah, Head of the Public Law Department at UPSA Law School to present her award to Prof. Amartey.
