UPSA inaugurates Professional Advisory Committee

The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), has inaugurated a Professional Advisory Committee to provide strategic direction on the design and implementation of professional training programmes and uphold the highest standards in academic delivery.

The ceremony, held on Thursday, 19th June, formally ushered in the committee’s mandate to advise the Academic Board on relevant professional training needs, review academic programmes, and offer expert guidance to ensure the University maintains excellence in professional education.

The committee, chaired by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor John Kwaku Mensah Mawutor, held its maiden meeting shortly after the inauguration.

Prof Mawutor explained that the establishment of the committee is in line with the governing Act and Statutes of the University.

He congratulated members on their appointments and thanked them for accepting to serve on the committee.

“Your feedback will be greatly appreciated, especially as we begin a rigorous exercise to review our curriculum,” Prof Mawutor stated.

“This committee provides a vital peer-review mechanism as we seek to align our programmes with the evolving needs of industry and the professions.”
