The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), has hosted a two-day special conference of members of Vice-Chancellors Ghana (VCG).
The gathering, from March 20 to 21, 2025, provided a platform for university chief executives to deliberate on key issues affecting academia and university management.
The event brought together Vice-Chancellors, Registrars, and Directors of Finance from the 16 public universities across Ghana.
It also served as an avenue for the higher education managers to interact, share ideas, and discuss best practices in university governance.
In his welcome address, the Vice-Chancellor of UPSA, Prof. John Kwaku Mensah Mawutor, emphasised the importance of collaboration and continuous dialogue in strengthening higher education institutions and improving academic excellence.
The Chairman of VCG, who is also the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong thanked members for their active participation and insightful contributions throughout the deliberations.
He commended the attendees for their commitment to improving the management and administration of public universities in Ghana.
The meeting concluded on Friday with a call for enhanced cooperation among universities to address challenges in the higher education sector and promote innovation in academic leadership.
