UPSA hosts Kufuor Scholars graduation, celebrates former student leader among graduates

The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) has hosted the graduation ceremony of the 2024 cohort of the Kufuor Scholars Program (KSP).

The event marked the successful completion of a transformative three-year leadership journey for 30 young scholars.

Among the graduating cohort was Josephine Edem Vigbedor, a distinguished former student leader of UPSA, whose participation underscored the University’s growing influence in shaping future leaders.

Now in its 10th year, the Kufuor Scholars Program was instituted by the John A. Kufuor Foundation to mentor the next generation of transformational leaders committed to patriotism, selflessness, and community service.

The prestigious program exposes undergraduate students to leadership camps, international events, mentoring, coaching, internships, and personal projects that enhance ethical decision-making and creative problem-solving.

“Over the years, these young scholars have been empowered with ethical problem-solving skills and creative thinking abilities that will drive their success in their chosen careers and leadership roles for national development,” says Director of the Kufuor Scholars Program, Dr. Pascal Brenya.

The Vice-Chancellor of UPSA, Prof John Kwaku Mensah Mawutor, congratulated the young scholars on their achievement.

He reaffirmed the University’s commitment to nurturing leadership and academic excellence.

“UPSA’s hosting of this landmark event signals its continued collaboration with strategic national institutions in championing leadership, innovation, and service,” Prof. Mawutor said.

“We look forward to deeper partnerships that align with our vision of producing world-class professionals for national and global transformation.”
