UPSA drama troupe launched, performs maiden play

The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) has dived into the world of performing arts with the launch of its drama troupe on Monday, December 18.

The UPSA drama troupe, with talented students from various departments, showcased their theatrical prowess in a culturally enriched adaptation of the classic biblical story of the birth of Jesus Christ.

Their inaugural play, titled “The Nativity,” made waves as it creatively depicted the birth of the Messiah within a distinctly Ghanaian context.

The play also skilfully blended the traditional elements of the Christmas narrative with the vibrant culture of Ghana.

From the costumes to the set design to the sound effects, every detail resonated with the audience, offering a unique and engaging experience.
