A high-powered delegation from the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), led by the Registrar, Mrs. Lorraine Gyan, has paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Executive Officer of Zenith Bank Ghana Limited.
The visit, which took place on Thursday, July 24, 2025, was to express appreciation to the Bank for its generous support for the University’s 2025 Annual Leadership Lecture.
It also served to officially brief the Bank on preparations towards the event, as well as its confirmed role as headline sponsor.
Earlier this month, Zenith Bank presented a cheque donation of GHS500,000 to UPSA in support of the upcoming lecture.

“We express our utmost gratitude to the management of Zenith Bank for this remarkable support,” Mrs. Lorraine Gyan said. “We are confident that this is the beginning of bigger things to come between our two institutions.”
This year’s lecture, scheduled for Tuesday, August 19, 2025, will be delivered by H.E. Jacob Zuma, former President of the Republic of South Africa, on the topic “The Geopolitics and Geo-economics of De-dollarization: BRICS+ Currency Strategy, Lessons for Africa’s Common Currency and Beyond.”
The event is expected to attract high-profile leaders from government, academia, business, and the diplomatic community.
The CEO of Zenith Bank, Mr. Henry Onwuzurigbo, expressed delight at the collaboration.

“We are excited to partner with and support UPSA in its quest to promote leadership and policy dialogue across the continent,” Mr Onwuzurigbo said. “As a bank, we believe in the University and its strategic role in shaping the future of education and leadership in Ghana and beyond. We are hopeful that this relationship will grow stronger in the years to come.”
Mr. Onwuzurigbo further affirmed the bank’s commitment to the University’s long-term development and urged UPSA to fast-track arrangements for the collection of student fees by the bank ahead of the 2025/2026 academic year.
Other members of the UPSA delegation included Prof. Samuel Antwi, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research, Innovation and Knowledge Transfer), and Rev. Dr. Stephen Acheampong, Director of the UPSA Counselling Unit.
The UPSA Annual Leadership Lecture is a flagship event aimed at promoting thought leadership, stimulating critical dialogue, and engaging key stakeholders on pressing global and regional development issues.
