UPSA Delegation Calls on Media General Ahead of Ghana Business Leaders’ Conclave –  2026

The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), has paid a courtesy call on Media General Ghana as part of activities marking its 60th Anniversary celebrations. The visit, which took place on Thursday, 14 May 2026, was to strengthen institutional collaboration and formally invite Media General to the Ghana Business Leaders’ Conclave scheduled for Friday, 15 May 2026, at the Kofi Ohene-Konadu Auditorium, UPSA.

The delegation was led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor John Kwaku Mensah Mawutor. He was accompanied by the Registrar, Mrs Lorraine Gyan; President of the UPSA Global Alumni Association, Mr Francis Dadzie; Acting Director of Administration, Dr Leticia Akyempong; Director of Public Affairs, Madam Aba Lokko; and the Executive Director of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana, Mr Kwabena Agyekum.

The Media General team included the Chief Operating Officer, Mr Nuamah Fameye, and the General Manager of Onua Group, Mr Schandorf Stephen.

Discussions centred on opportunities for collaboration in leadership development, executive education, entrepreneurship, innovation and strategic media engagement.

Welcoming the delegation, Mr Nuamah reaffirmed Media General’s commitment to supporting impactful educational and national development initiatives. He noted that discussions were already underway between the two institutions on areas such as executive education, reputation management and communication training.

“We value our longstanding relationship with UPSA and remain committed to supporting initiatives that contribute meaningfully to leadership development and national growth,” he said.

Professor Mawutor expressed appreciation to Media General for its continued support and partnership with the University. He noted that the Ghana Business Leaders’ Conclave forms part of UPSA’s broader commitment to promoting ethical leadership, sustainable enterprise and institutional continuity.

“In many countries, businesses survive for generations because systems are intentionally built for continuity and succession. Through this Conclave, UPSA seeks to contribute to national conversations on sustainability, succession planning and responsible leadership,” he said.

The Vice-Chancellor added that UPSA was strengthening its focus on innovation, entrepreneurship and applied research to equip students with practical, solution-driven skills. He disclosed that the University would soon launch a computer assembly plant as part of efforts to enhance students’ technical and entrepreneurial competencies.

Madam Aba Lokko underscored the importance of strategic media partnerships in extending the reach and impact of major university initiatives.

The meeting ended with both institutions reaffirming their commitment to deeper collaboration in education, leadership development, innovation and strategic communication.
