The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), has held a special exhibition to celebrate the innovative research, academic works, and outstanding achievements of Prof. Albert Puni, one of the University’s distinguished scholars.

The exhibition, held as part of activities leading to Prof. Puni’s upcoming Inaugural Lecture on Thursday, October 23, 2025, showcased a rich catalogue of his scholarly contributions.

They included major policy papers, technical research works, and publications that have advanced knowledge in management, corporate governance, and leadership studies.

In a glowing tribute to Prof. Puni’s remarkable career, the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Emmanuel Selasie Asamoah, commended him for his exceptional dedication and service to the University community.

He described Prof. Puni as “a mentor and a fatherly figure who has guided and inspired many young lecturers.”

“A community that does not celebrate its own is not worth belonging to,” Prof. Asamoah remarked, praising Prof. Puni for his years of hard work and commitment.

“Your works are evidence of your diligence and the sleepless nights you have invested in the growth of this University,” he added.

Registrar of UPSA, Mrs. Lorraine Gyan, also lauded Prof. Puni’s immense contributions, describing him as “an asset to the University.”

She noted that both the institution and its staff have greatly benefited from his wisdom and leadership.

“Personally, I have had the opportunity to interact with you on several occasions and have always admired your humility and insight,” Mrs Gyan said.

Prof. Puni, in his presentation, reflected on his academic journey and the various stages of his professional life.

He urged young lecturers to use their intellect and skills to better their lives and communities, emphasising the importance of service, discipline, and innovation in academia.

Over the years, Prof. Puni has served in several key administrative roles, including Coordinator of the School of Graduate Studies, Head of the Department of Business Administration, Dean of the School of Graduate Studies, and Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies.

Notably, he was also the founding Dean of the UPSA Distance Learning School, where he played a pivotal role in expanding access to higher education.

The event was attended by leading members of the University community, including deans, directors, heads of department, faculty, and administrative staff.
