The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), has engaged the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) to deepen institutional collaboration in media engagement, education, research, innovation and entrepreneurship. The courtesy call, which took place on Thursday, 14 May 2026, also formed part of UPSA’s stakeholder engagements ahead of the Ghana Business Leaders’ Conclave scheduled for Friday, 15 May 2026.
The UPSA delegation was led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor John Kwaku Mensah Mawutor. He was accompanied by the Registrar, Mrs Lorraine Gyan; President of the UPSA Global Alumni Association, Mr Francis Dadzie; Acting Director of Administration, Dr Leticia Akyeampong; Director of Public Affairs, Madam Aba Lokko; and the Executive Director of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana, Mr Kwabena Agyekum.
The GBC delegation was led by the Director-General, Professor Amin Alhassan. Other members of the team included Mr George Lomotey, Director of Marketing; Mr Joel Ashie, Deputy Director, Human Resource; Mr John Korasare, Director, Human Resource; and Mr Augustus Yamson, Deputy Director-General.

Professor Mawutor said the visit was intended to strengthen existing relations between the two institutions and formally invite GBC to participate in key UPSA programmes, particularly the Ghana Business Leaders’ Conclave.
He noted that the Conclave would provide a platform for conversations on business sustainability, innovation, entrepreneurship and responsible leadership.
The Vice-Chancellor said UPSA remained committed to producing practical and solution-oriented graduates capable of responding to contemporary business and societal needs. He highlighted some student-led innovations, including mobile applications designed to support business operations, tax computation, inventory management and academic support systems.
Professor Mawutor further stressed the need to draw lessons from indigenous and traditional systems that have sustained themselves across generations, noting that such knowledge could provide useful insights for modern business continuity and succession planning.

He also underscored the role of strategic media partnerships in projecting UPSA’s academic work, innovations and contribution to national development.
On his part, Professor Amin Alhassan commended UPSA for its remarkable growth, particularly in infrastructure development, innovation and student entrepreneurship. He noted that the University’s work was relevant to national development and deserved wider visibility.
He assured the delegation of GBC’s readiness to strengthen collaboration with UPSA and explore areas of mutual benefit, particularly in leveraging innovations developed by the University.
Both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to deepening collaboration in education, innovation, research and national development through strategic media and academic partnerships.
