The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), through its Centre for International Education and Collaboration (CIEC), in partnership with the University at Buffalo (UB) School of Management and key local stakeholders, will undertake a series of community medical outreaches expected to serve 10,000 beneficiaries across the Western, Central and Greater Accra Regions.
The initiative forms part of the University’s Strategic Priorities’ social impact pillar and reinforces UPSA’s commitment to community engagement through high-impact international partnerships. Anchored within the UPSA–UB collaboration framework, the programme integrates experiential learning with practical interventions that respond to pressing community needs, while strengthening opportunities for academic exchange, mobility programmes and joint initiatives that deliver measurable outcomes.
The medical outreaches will begin in the Shama Constituency in the Western Region, on Monday, 29 December 2025 and Tuesday, 30 December 2025. The team will subsequently proceed to the Central Region for an outreach at St. Paul Catholic School, Cape Coast, on Wednesday, 31 December 2025. In the Greater Accra Region, services will be provided in Madina at the Nkwantanang MA 7 Basic School on Saturday, 3 January 2026, and the programme will conclude with a two-day outreach in Dodowa at Bawaleshie School on Monday, 5 January 2026 and Tuesday, 6 January 2026. All outreaches will take place each day from 8:00am to 3:00pm.
Collectively, the outreaches are projected to serve 10,000 beneficiaries, including 5,000 in Shama, 2,000 in Cape Coast, 1,500 in La Nkwantanang (Madina), and 1,500 in Kpone Bawaleshie (Dodowa). The scale and geographic spread of the intervention underscore UPSA’s commitment to impactful community engagement and provide a practical platform for demonstrating measurable outcomes from the University’s global collaborations.
UPSA, encourages community members, local leaders and stakeholders within the host communities to support mobilisation efforts to ensure an orderly outreach process and maximise the reach of services delivered during the programme period.
