Shatta Wale to headline UPSA 1000 & Ghana Entrepreneurship Conference 2026

Ghanaian music icon and entrepreneur Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, is set to engage students of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) at the UPSA 1000 & Ghana Entrepreneurship Conference 2026.

The 5-day entrepreneurship conference scheduled from September 14 to 18, 2026, is expected to bring together Ghanaian youth, students, members of the university community and the wider public for an engaging conversation on entrepreneurship, creativity, innovation, and the changing dynamics of enterprises in the digital age.

The award-winning musician and entrepreneur will headline the conference on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. at the Kofi Ohene-Konadu Auditorium, UPSA, where he will share insights from his entrepreneurial journey and experiences in building a successful creative brand and entrepreneurial businesses.

The engagement will focus on enterprise, creativity, innovation and brand building, with Shatta Wale expected to provide students with practical perspectives on how he has navigated the entertainment industry while developing a strong personal and business brand.

A major focus of the engagement will be how the music icon has leveraged social media and the internet as strategic tools to connect with audiences, promote his work, strengthen his brand and create entrepreneurial opportunities.

Vice-Chancellor of UPSA, Prof. John Kwaku Mensah Mawutor, believes the session would equip the youth especially students with valuable lessons on using digital platforms to drive creativity and entrepreneurship.

“With social media increasingly shaping how individuals and businesses build brands and connect with audiences, the session is expected to offer students valuable lessons on leveraging digital platforms to transform ideas and creative talents into sustainable ventures,” said Prof John Kwaku Mensah Mawutor.

He stressed that Shatta Wale’s journey from music to entrepreneurship provides a practical example of how creativity, digital communication and personal branding can be combined to create new opportunities in a competitive business environment.

“The University is therefore encouraging students to take advantage of the opportunity to interact with one of Ghana’s most prominent creative entrepreneurs and gain first-hand insights into building a successful brand, embracing creativity and turning opportunities into enterprise,” the Vice-Chancellor added.
