Mr. Silas Amponsah Gyimah is a Mathematician, a Statistician, and a Lecturer at the Department of Banking and Finance, University of Professional Studies, Accra, (UPSA), with over eight years’ experience in teaching and research. Before joining the University and currently a lecturer at the Faculty of Accounting and Finance at UPSA.

Mr. Silas Amponsah holds an MPhil Mathematics (Actuarial Mathematics) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology (KNUST) and teaches Mathematics, Statistics, and Actuarial Science related courses. He has published over six articles in peer-reviewed/ranked journals. His research areas include Time Series Analysis, Actuarial Mathematics Modelling, Financial Mathematics, Pricing of Critical Illness, and Risk Management. He has also undertaken collaborative studies with Lecturers from other institutions such as the Koforidua Technical University and The Methodist University College, Ghana.

As his service to the community, Mr. Gyimah actively participated in several events that focussed on sensitizing the village folks on the need to study Science and Mathematics, as well as serving as a resource person for free Mathematics Clinic held for SHS Students at the Methodist University College Ghana. He is also a member of the Ghana Statistical Association (GSA).
