Sammy is a lecturer in the Department of Communication Studies of the Faculty of Information Technology and Communication Studies (FITCS). He has over a decade teaching experience in Journalism and Law. He is also the Coordinator for the Media and Website Unit of the University of Professional Studies and an Associate of the School of Law. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Media Studies at the University of London.

Sammy holds a Master’s degree in Gender, Peace and Security from the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre in Accra, a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from the University of Ghana, Legon, and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and a certificate in Multimedia Journalism from the BBC College of Journalism, London

Before joining academia, Sammy worked with the BBC World Service as a correspondent in Accra. He previously worked as a news presenter, a parliamentary correspondent and a court reporter for Joy fm, one of Ghana’s leading private radio stations based in Accra.

Sammy is a qualified lawyer with extensive experience in legal practice and demonstrates his active presence at the bar.
