Richard Dua-Ansah is an Assistant Lecturer at the UPSA Law School. He serves at the Programmes Coordinator and IT Coordinator for the Law School. He is a Legal Practitioner and an Intellectual Property Attorney in Ghana. He is one of the founding members of Intellectual Property Network Ghana, a pioneer Intellectual Property think tank and advocacy group in Ghana.

Mr. Dua-Ansah has presented papers at many conferences and workshops, and has published articles such as an Idea-Expression Dichotomy Day in The Ghanaian Court: Review of The Supreme Court Case of Pearson Education Limited Vs. Morgan Adzei. and Commercialisation of Inventions by Selected Public Universities in Ghana, both in the African Journal of Intellectual Property.

He holds both a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and an LLB from the University of Ghana. After becoming a member of the Ghana Bar in 2011, Richard went on to obtain his Master’s Degree in Intellectual Property from the Africa University, Zimbabwe. In June 2015, Richard had the opportunity to attend a two-week Training Course for Intellectual Property Practitioners organized by the Japan Patent Office in Tokyo, Japan.

Richard is a Christian of the reformed tradition and fellowships with the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rev. Dr. Nantoma Memorial Congregation, Kanda – Accra where he plays the organ in church and loves to teach music especially to children.
