Dr. Richard Agbanyo is an Economist and a Lecturer at the Department of Banking and Finance, University of Professional Studies, Accra, (UPSA), with over nineteen years of teaching experience. He teaches Economics courses at both Graduate and Undergraduate levels. Before joining the University, Dr Agbanyo worked as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Economics, University of Cape Coast. He also worked with the Ghana Education Services, teaching Economics and ICT at the University Practice Senior High School, Cape Coast. While teaching at the Senior High School, he headed the ICT and Data Management Unit and served as the Secretary to the Academic Board.

Dr. Agbanyo holds BA, M.Phil and PhD in Economics from the University of Cape Coast with specialization in Health Economics and Managerial Economics. He also holds Diploma in HRM form the Institute of Commercial Management, UK. His research focuses on healthcare financing; production and utilization of healthcare; maternal and child health; development finance and SMEs. He has a number of publications in ranked journals from Springer, Wiley and Emerald (see selected papers) and presented papers at both local and international conferences and seminars.

As his service to community, Dr Agbanyo serves as a reviewer for some International journals. He also consults especially on monitoring and evaluation of policies.
