Prof. Philomena Dadzie is a Fellow Chartered Governance Professional and an Associate
Professor of Finance at the Department of Banking and Finance, University of Professional
Studies, Accra (UPSA), with over nineteen years of experience in teaching and research,
administration, and finance.
Prior to joining UPSA, Prof. Dadzie worked as a credit officer and a branch manager with
Women’s World Banking, Ghana, for six years and as a Manager at the University of Ghana
Co-operative Credit Union for eleven years. She also served in various capacities in the
university, including Unit Head for Chartered Governance–UK, Hall Tutor for Yaa
Asantewaa Hall, Departmental Course Counsellor, and Vice Dean of Students. She is
currently the Dean of Students, Chairperson of the UPSA Co-op Credit Union, and a member
of the Budget Committee and Academic Board of the University.
Prof. Philomena Dadzie holds a PhD in Higher Education Administration from the University
of Phoenix, Arizona, USA, and teaches finance courses. She has publications in peer-
reviewed/ranked journals. Her research areas include higher education, microfinance, and
credit unions. She has presented papers on credit unionism both locally and internationally.
As her community service, Prof. Dadzie serves as a consultant to several credit unions in the
capital, which she personally set up. She serves as the Vice Chairperson of the Greater Accra
Chapter of Credit Unions and on some boards, including Corporate Governance Africa. She
is a Fellow of the Chartered Governance Institute—UK and a certified African Credit Union
Educator.
