Peter is a trained educationist and a professional with over 20 years of working experience in teaching, industry and commerce including 12 years of teaching in the university. Upon joining UPSA Peter served as the Coordinator of Programmes in MBA Auditing, MBA Internal Auditing and MBA Petroleum Accounting and Finance at the School of Graduate Studies. Peter was the Treasurer of the Conference of Heads of Private Universities, Ghana (CHPUG) now Association of Independent Universities (AIU).

Peter Ackah is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Finance with Central University of Nicaragua. His teaching areas include Conduct of Audit and Reporting, Internal Audit Functions and Forensic Auditing at the graduate school of UPSA and Corporate Reporting and Auditing at the undergraduate level of the university. His research interests are in Enterprise Risk Management, Corporate Governance and Auditing.

As his service to the community, Peter Ackah serves on a number of boards and committees including Amansie South District Education Endowment Fund and Pentecost Cooperative Credit Union (PENCO) among others. Peter is a guest speaker on Radio and Television programmes on social and general life issues.
