Born and bred in the Upper West Region, Mohammed Nurudeen received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematical Science (Computer Option) from the University for Development Studies (UDS), Ghana in 2008. After graduating, he took up a voluntary teaching appointment at Akraman Catholic Junior High School in the Central Region where he taught ICT for a year. During this same period he also volunteered as a part time computer technician at the Saltpond Community Information Center (CIC).

After a year of voluntary national service, Mohammed pursued his postgraduate studies at the Central South University (CSU), China where he obtained a Master’s of Engineering Degree in Computer Science and Technology in 2013 and a Doctor of Engineering Degree in Computer Application Technology in 2017. During this phase of his academic career, he took part in a number of high profile research projects and also won the Graduate Student of Honor and Excellence Award in 2017.

Prior to graduation, he was offered an appointment at Huawei Technologies (SA) Limited in Ghana where he worked as Quality Assurance Specialist for a year before joining the University of Professional Studies, Accra in September 2018.

Dr. Mohammed Nurudeen is currently interested in the following research areas: Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Data Mining and Internet of Things (IoT).

Teaching Statement
I view the classroom as an ecosystem of knowledge and as much as I try to impart knowledge, I also try to learn from the ecosystem.
