Dr. Kofi Afriyie Nyamekye is a lecturer at the Department of Banking and Finance, University of Professional Studies, Accra, (UPSA), with over nine years experience in teaching and research, as well as administration. Before joining the University, Mr Nyamekye worked as a Chief administrative assistant of the centre for career development (CICD, Ghana) 2008, research assistant at Nordic Africa Institute (Uppsala University, Sweden in 2012) and later as a visiting data analyst for the Ethiopian Commodity Exchange, Addis Ababa-Ethiopia.
Dr. Nyamekye holds a 2 year master degree, research based in Financial Engineering from the Malardalens University, Vasteras Sweden. He had his bachelor degree in Actuarial Science from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He has published and presented some papers with the Journal of Business & Professional Research and international conferences such as AIMS, ICBMED and OICA. His research areas include commercial law, insurance law, actuarial risk modelling, insurance claim modelling and time series analysis.He has undertaken collaborative studies with AIT as an adjunct lecturer as well as KNUST and presented papers at both local and international conferences and seminars.
As a social responsibility, Mr. Nyamekye has served as the associate coordinator of the Accra Teacher Training College as well as a coordinator for student travel advisor to the studentours programme through First Flight Consult, USA programmes.
