Isaac Ofoeda is an Associate Professor of Finance at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), with a PhD in Finance from the University of Ghana and over a decade of experience in teaching, research, and academic leadership.

He is a finance scholar whose research lies at the intersection of financial inclusion, financial sector development, financial regulation, institutional quality and governance, corporate finance and risk management, and green finance and environmental sustainability. His work places particular emphasis on emerging and developing economies, examining how regulatory and institutional frameworks including anti-money laundering regimes shape financial development, access to finance, investment flows, firm outcomes, and inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

Prof. Ofoeda currently serves as the Director of the Office of Doctoral Programmes at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), where he provides strategic leadership in doctoral education, research development, programme quality, and academic engagement. He has previously held several key academic and administrative roles, including Head of the Department of Banking and Finance and Coordinator of the MPhil Finance, MPhil Accounting, and MSc Insurance and Risk Management programmes, contributing significantly to postgraduate education, curriculum development, and programme accreditation.

His scholarly contributions have been published in reputable international journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science, including the Journal of International Development, International Journal of Finance & Economics, and Journal of Financial Regulation and Compliance. His research has received international recognition, including the Emerald Literati Outstanding Paper Award (2023) and a Top Cited Article Award in the Journal of International Development.

Beyond academia, Prof. Ofoeda actively contributes to policy and professional practice. He has served as an external assessor for academic promotions, a member of assessment panels for the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), and a participant in high-level national dialogues on financial regulation and revenue mobilisation in Ghana. His work bridges academia, policy, and industry, reflecting a strong commitment to impactful scholarship.

His teaching spans doctoral, postgraduate, and undergraduate levels, where he delivers courses in Financial Management, Contemporary Issues in Accounting Research,  Empirical Methods in Finance and Corporate Reporting, , among others. He is passionate about mentoring students and developing the next generation of finance professionals and researchers.
