Dr. Hamdeeya Yenzoo Abdulai Mutala is a lecturer in the Department of Banking and Finance, University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA). She has worked in the past as a lecturer in the Department of Accounting and Finance of Zenith University College. Before her professional life as a lecturer, she served as a teaching assistant and also a graduate assistant in the Finance Department of the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS). She also did her national service at the Marketing Department of UGBS.

Dr. Mutala holds a PhD in Finance from the University of Ghana and teaches finance-related courses. She also holds certificates from the Ghana Stock Exchange Securities Courses and has participated in several doctoral programmes organised by the University of Ghana Pan African Doctoral Academy. She has also presented papers at several international and local conferences including a virtual international conference.

As an emerging scholar, Dr. Mutala achieves her teaching and research objectives by adopting a multidisciplinary approach. She promotes classroom learning by teaching with new knowledge she has garnered from relevant blogs she follows, relevant websites she has visited and current textbook and journal publications. Her professional membership/affiliations include the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC); and the Association for the Advancement of African Women’s Economists (AAAWE).
