Prof. Gladys A. Abindaw Nabieu is an academic scholar with a strong specialization in Applied Finance, Banking and Accounting. She is an Associate Professor at the Department of Banking and Finance, University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA). Before joining the UPSA, she worked in financial institutions and the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority. As part of her community service, she currently serves as acting Chairman of the Board of Directors of the St. Peter Claver International School under the Accra Arch-Bishop’s Cluster of Schools. Prof. Gladys A. Abindaw Nabieu has also served as the Deanery Chairperson for the Madina Deanery, the Parish Pastoral Council Chairperson for Our Lady Queen of Peace, and Vice President of the Sacred Heart of Navrongo-Bolgatanga Society at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church.

Prof. Gladys A. Abindaw Nabieu holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Finance from the University of Ghana Business School (Ghana), a Master of Science (MSc) in International Banking and Finance from London Metropolitan University (United Kingdom), and the first degree in Bachelor of Commerce (B. Com) from the University of Cape Coast (Ghana). She also holds a Fellow Certificate with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana (ICAG).

Prof. Gladys A. Abindaw Nabieu has held various management positions at UPSA, including the Coordinator for Distance Learning Programmes, the Head of Department for Banking and Finance, the Coordinator of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Accounting and Finance Programme, a Hall Tutor of the Yaa Asantewaa Hall of UPSA Hostel, and a member of the Academic Board and Faculty Board Member in UPSA. She has been the Vice President and Treasurer of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA). She is an Examiner for the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana (ICAG).

Prof. Gladys A. Abindaw Nabieu has a cumulative experience of eighteen (18) years in academia, of which two years were spent at the Business School of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), where she lectured on various aspects of Banking, Finance, and Management from 2007 to 2009. She currently lectures at both graduate and undergraduate levels and supervises graduate theses and undergraduate dissertations at the UPSA. As a Lecturer, she has led different committees to successfully develop five (5) academic programmes and two (2) technical policies. She has twelve (12) scholarly publications in refereed journals. The sole author of a Business Finance book, the Lead author of Corporate Finance and a member of the Business Finance manuals for UPSA Distance Learning School. Prof. Gladys A. Abindaw Nabieu is also the lead author of a book chapter on international cost of capital and Capital Structure in the International Finance of Developing Economies textbook, and on Capital Structure and Firm Financing Decisions in Issues in Financial Economics: Theory and Empirics textbook.

Prof. Gladys A. Abindaw Nabieu also serves as a reviewer for some international journals. Her primary areas of interest in research and collaboration include Banking Sector Development, Capital Structure, Public Finance, Economic Growth, and Financial Markets. She teaches various courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level programmes, including: Banking and Investment Analysis, Introduction to Business Finance, Financial Risk Management & Insurance, Public Finance, Investment Fundamentals, Financial Management, Corporate Finance, Entrepreneurial Finance, Financial Markets and Institutions.

Before joining academia, she had five (5) years of experience in various middle-level practice positions in the private financial institutions in Ghana and in the United Kingdom (UK), where she worked as a finance officer, senior banking officer in an audit department, and a teaching assistant, respectively. Prof. Gladys A. Abindaw Nabieu is married with two children.
