Dr Gerald D. Gyamfi is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Management Studies, UPSA. He holds a PhD from University of Phoenix, USA and MSc from University of Manchester, UK. He is also a Fellow of the Global Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (the Governance Institute). Dr. Gyamfi is currently the Acting Director in-charge of both Drolor Centre for Strategic Leadership, and Otumfour Centre for Traditional Leadership. He is the Founding Dean of Faculty of Management Studies (2006-2012) and the Dean of Weekend School (2012-2018). Dr. Gyamfi is a Member of the National Accreditation Board (NAB), Ghana, representing all recognized professional bodies in Ghana. At NAB, Dr Gyamfi serves as a member of four different committees; Accreditation Review Committee, Quality Assurance Committee, Finance Committee and Institutional Visit Committee. He is also the Director of Public Relations and Publicity of International Police Executive Symposium, an international NGO that works in collaboration with the United Nations.
Dr. Gyamfi’s research interest is in the area of Human Resource Management and in this field, he has authored 18 journal articles, 2 books and 6 book chapters. He is a reviewer for the following reputable refereed journals; International Journal of Cyber Warfare & Terrorism (since 2018, Publisher: IGI), International Journal of Peace and Development Studies (since 2016, Academic Journals), and Police Practice and Research: An International Journal (since 2015, Publisher: Taylor & Francis). He was appointed by University of Cape Coast as an external postgraduate examiner/assessor in 2017. University of Ghana appointed him as a mentor to its PhD candidates in 2016. University of Professional Studies, Accra appointed him as a committee member of its PhD students in 2019. Dr. Gyamfi is also an entrepreneur of high repute. He has taught a wide range of courses in the field of management. At UPSA, he teaches courses such as Risk and Insurance Management and Operations Management, among other management courses.
