Biography
Dr. Dickson Keddy Wornyo is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Information Technology Studies at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Ghana. He is an academic, researcher, and Information Technology consultant with over a decade of experience in higher education, research, and technology practice. His expertise covers Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Database Management Systems, Computer Security, Geo-Information Systems, Programming, and Big Data Analytics.
Dr. Wornyo holds a PhD in Computer Science, with research specialization in Machine Learning, Ensemble Learning, and intelligent data-driven systems. His research contributions focus on developing computational models and intelligent approaches for addressing complex problems in data analysis, prediction, decision support, and emerging technology applications.
As an educator, Dr. Wornyo is committed to delivering innovative and practical learning experiences that integrate theory with real-world applications. His teaching areas include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Database Management Systems, Programming, Geo-Information Systems, Introduction to Information Technology, and Computer Security. He is passionate about mentoring students, promoting critical thinking, and preparing graduates with the skills required for the evolving digital economy.
Dr. Wornyo’s research interests are centred on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Ensemble Learning, Big Data Analytics, Data Mining, Cybersecurity, and Intelligent Decision Support Systems. His scholarly contributions include research in ensemble modelling, kernel learning, neural networks, intelligent classification systems, and cybersecurity.
In addition to his academic responsibilities, Dr. Wornyo serves as an Information Technology Consultant, providing expertise in systems planning and development, technology strategy, policy formulation, machine learning solutions, and professional training. He has designed and facilitated capacity-building programmes in Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology, cybersecurity, and digital transformation for academic and professional audiences.
Dr. Wornyo has participated in international conferences, workshops, and research programmes across Africa, Europe, and Asia, contributing to global knowledge exchange and collaboration in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and emerging technologies. His work seeks to bridge the gap between academic research and practical innovation by developing sustainable technology solutions that address organizational and societal challenges.
