Dr. Christian Akrong Hesse

Senior Lecturer

Christian Akrong Hesse is a former Professor of Statistics and Dean of the Faculty of Science at Methodist University College Ghana. He is currently a Senior Lecturer at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA). He holds a PhD in Mathematical Statistics from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, and an MPhil in Statistics from the University of Ghana, Legon.

 

He is a prolific writer and one of the most talented authors who provides a distinctly new approach to teaching and learning of statistics and mathematics with their consequential effects on social issues of our time. With simplicity, he reveals the attractiveness of these subjects to students in college and professional schools. He has published extensively in the field of Statistics on modeling road traffic fatalities in Ghana. He is co-author of a number of books and articles and the author for both Elective and Core Mathematics for Senior High Schools popularly known as the “Akrong Series” which are published by Akrong Publications Limited and also approved by Ghana Education Service.

 

Christian Akrong Hesse has several years of teaching experience to his credit at both secondary and tertiary levels where his research also examines issues relative to the teaching and learning of Statistics and Mathematics. He has also demonstrated the ability to mentor colleague lecturers of his faculty where he continues to hold a distinguished teaching and administrative post.
