
Dr. Bukari Zakari
Dr. Zakari Bukari is a marketing researcher and consultant with a keen interest in green behavior, climate insurance, strategy, political economy, voter behavior, customer/service experience, SME growth, resilience in emerging markets during and after the global pandemic, and consumer behavior. He holds a Ph.D. in Marketing from Putra Business School, University Putra Malaysia; an MPhil in marketing from the University of Ghana Business School; a BSc in marketing from the University of Professional Studies, Accra; and a Chartered Postgraduate Diploma in marketing (CIMUK). Dr. Bukari previously served as a Graduate Teaching and Research Assistant at the University of Ghana Business School. He has also served as an adjunct lecturer at the IPE School of Management and Accra Technical University. He is a Global Awareness Society International Scholar. He won the 2019 Ph.D. Candidate Global Scholar Award, the 2020 Global Scholar Award, and the 2023 Faculty Grant Award from the Global Awareness Society International (GASI). He has also served as a reviewer and track committee member for the 2020 Academy of Marketing Science (AMS) World Marketing Congress, held in Brisbane, Australia. He currently reviews for the Journal of Politics and Policy. He serves on the editorial board of the Journal of European Business and Management. He has experience in developing and implementing strategic plans for companies. He has published several books and journal articles in high-impact journals, including but not limited to: Journal of Community Psychology, Heliyon, International Journal of Consumer Studies, Social Science and Humanities, International Review of Retail, Distribution and Consumer Research. His current research focuses on consumer climate change engagement and marketers’ actions towards climate change misinformation and disinformation, and consumers’ responses.
