Bernie Asher

Academic Area(s): Mr. Bernie Asher is a Lecturer at the Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Management Studies, UPSA. He holds two master’s degrees in Environmental Management and International Diplomacy and Policy as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration. He is currently finishing off a PhD at the Royal Holloway University of London.

Prior to joining UPSA, Mr. Asher served as a Lecturer of Management at the Guildford College of Higher Education in Surrey, England and Programme Manager for BTEC HND and Foundation Degree Courses (2007 to 2017). He also served as an Associate Lecturer in Economics at the University College of Estate Management in Reading, UK (2004-2015).

Among the range of courses taught, he teaches Environmental Management; Macro and Microeconomics; Marketing; HRM; Employment Relations and Strategy. His research interests span the areas of the Informal Sector in developing countries; SMES and Micro Enterprises in developing countries; Business Ethics, and Afrocommunitarian Ethics etc. Mr. Asher has published in international journals on afro-communitarian ethics.
