Dr. Andrews Akolaa has over 20 years’ experience in Sales and marketing especially from the Media, Beverages and Telecommunications sectors. Dr Akolaa served as Head of Department of Marketing from 2016 to 2020 and a Lecturer teaching Marketing Management, International Marketing, Digital Marketing and Sales Management.
Dr Andrews Akolaa holds a Doctor of Business Administration from the SMC University in Switzerland, MSc in International Business and Executive Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Ghana Business School. He is a Chartered Marketer and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing UK and Ghana.
Dr Akolaa has vast experience from industry which he brings to bear on teaching and learning in UPSA. He worked with Airtel Ghana as the Vice President responsible for Sales & Distribution. He was also Sales Director for Guinness Ghana Breweries a Subsidiary of Diageo Plc. where he led one of the biggest sales teams to deliver on the total beverage agenda of the business.
Dr Akolaa also held various positions in Kasapreko Company Limited including General Manager for International business where he spearheaded the company’s export programme across the West African Region and other parts of Africa, Sales and Marketing Manager, Marketing and Public Relations Manager. He also has experience in media marketing haven worked as a pioneering staff of the Multimedia Group, TV3 Network Limited and Peace Fm where he served in various positions in sales and marketing from 1996.
Dr. Akolaa has several publications in reputable journals and have delivered at many international conferences. Currently he is the Lead Consultant of Ocean Star Consulting and a Member of the Board of National Biosafety Authority. He served as a Council member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana. He also served as Council member of the Association of Ghanaian industries, served previously as a member of the Strategic Planning Committee of the Brand Ghana office and the National President of BONABOTO has native civil society and advocacy group.
