
Dr. Amanda Quist Okronipa
Dr. Amanda Quist Okronipa is a distinguished academic and IT specialist with over a decade of experience in teaching, research, and IT systems management. Currently serving as a lecturer in the Department of Information Technology at UPSA, she combines her passion for education with her expertise in Information Systems to nurture the next generation of IT professionals.
Dr. Okronipa holds a Ph.D. in Information Systems from the University of South Africa, an MSc in Management Information Systems (MIS), and a Postgraduate Diploma in MIS from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). She also earned her BSc in Administration (Accounting Option) from Central University College.
Her academic career is underpinned by a commitment to advancing knowledge in Management Information Systems, IT project management, database administration, and emerging technologies. She teaches a range of undergraduate courses, supervises final-year projects, and leads research efforts that contribute to the global discourse on IT systems and their applications.
Before transitioning fully into academia, Dr. Okronipa gained extensive administrative and technical experience as a Junior Assistant Registrar at Ghana Communication Technology University (GCTU). There, she led several high-impact IT projects, including the development of a Student Information System, a comprehensive Graduands Database, and the Results Template Project.
Her scholarly contributions are recognized through numerous publications in high-impact journals, including studies on the adoption of health information systems in emerging economies, digital academic entrepreneurship, and the integration of AI in higher education. She is a co-author of several papers that address critical issues in information systems and their transformative potential in various industries.
Dr. Okronipa is also an active peer reviewer for several renowned academic journals and publishing platforms, including the Journal of Health Organization and Management, Kybernetes, Emerald Publishing, Springer Nature, and Health Services and Outcomes Research Methodology.
She is passionate about empowering individuals through education and research, fostering innovation in IT systems, and building collaborative networks to advance the field globally. Her technical expertise, dedication to academic excellence, and strong interpersonal skills make her a respected figure in both academia and the IT industry.
